About
Galapagos Conservancy is the only U.S.-based organization wholly dedicated to the conservation of the Galapagos Islands. For more than 25 years, Galapagos Conservancy has been a bridge connecting people across the globe to conservation efforts taking place in these extraordinary islands.
We provide funding and technical support to the Charles Darwin Foundation, the Galapagos National Park, and other scientists and institutions to promote biodiversity conservation, social science, education, and institutional strengthening and capacity building. Our investments help identify and implement priority projects to restore and protect Galapagos ecosystems and threatened plants and animals. These in turn have created conservation and socio-economic models that can be applied to protected areas throughout the world. GC also works with local NGOs, community groups, academic institutions, and farming cooperatives to help establish a sustainable island society that values and protects biodiversity and works to achieve a balance between humans and nature.
