The mission of ScholarMatch is to connect under-resourced students with donors and make college possible. We leverage the Internet to enable individuals to invest in the academic future of our students and we partner with community organizations to ensure students’ sustained success.

Founded by award-winning author and philanthropist Dave Eggers in 2010, ScholarMatch.org was launched in response to the large number of qualified applicants to the scholarship program at 826 Valencia, a nonprofit that serves students age 6-18, which was also started by Mr. Eggers. Incubated for its pilot year as a project of 826 National, ScholarMatch gave out over $100,000 to 65 students in its first two funding cycles and is preparing to grow strategically.
