Mission Statement

Operation Outreach-USA (OO-USA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization where the mission is to address some of the basic issues affecting the academic and social development of our nation's children. OO-USA focuses on literacy and building strong character among elementary-aged children through a school-based program that unites schools, teachers, parents, and the community behind the common goal of helping children develop the skills necessary to be successful contributors to society.

About Us

Reading is the gateway to success, and preparing children to be active, proficient readers by the time they finish the third grade is critical to success later in life. Operation Outreach-USA tackles this problem through a school-based literacy and character-education program that gives at-risk children books to own and tools for parents and teachers to help nurture and guide student development.

Operation Outreach-USA has been used in 4,000 schools in all 50 states. More than 1.1 million children in 54,000 classrooms have participated in the program with more than 2.2 million books being distributed at no cost to the schools.

Operation Outreach-USA publishes books about animals and the environment that are used exclusively in the classroom program.
