Mission Statement
NSCC's mission is to measure and improve school climate. NSCC achieves this through educational services, advocacy and policy, measurement, and research. NSCC is the nation's leading school-climate-reform organization. We work and learn with educators, parents, students, and educational systems to create a positive climate for learning where schools are safe places and free from violence and bullying; students are engaged in learning, graduate from high school, and are prepared for higher education and work; students feel supported, engaged, and motivated to make their community a better place; and educators feel valued, safe, empowered, and motivated to support the needs of their students. The entire community is mobilized to support the needs of the whole child.About Us
In every classroom across America, there are students struggling with social and emotional issues such as depression and bullying. These children go to school feeling disengaged from the learning process and distracted from gaining the basic skills they need to succeed beyond high school. The National School Climate Center (NSCC) was founded to help schools promote a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment to help our kids succeed in school and life. Our mission is to narrow the gap between what we have learned, through research about how to raise socially and emotionally healthy, productive children. Tragically, most schools today focus narrowly on reading, math, and science scores.
