Mission Statement

The mission of KIPP San Antonio is to enable educationally underserved students to develop the knowledge, skills, and character necessary to succeed in top quality schools and colleges and to command their future.

About Us

KIPP San Antonio operates three high-performing, free, public charter schools in inner city San Antonio, with one elementary school on the way. KIPP San Antonio is part of the nationwide KIPP (Knowledge Is Power Program) network of 109 schools in 20 states and D.C., serving 32,000 students. Nationally, more than 85% of KIPP alumni have gone on to college, compared to 35% in the area KIPP San Antonio serves.

Our Schools:

KIPP Aspire Academy Middle School – opened in 2003, KIPP Aspire was selected as a Texas School to Watch in 2011: 1 of 11 schools in Texas to receive this award.

KIPP Camino Academy Middle School – opened in 2010, KIPP Camino was recognized as one of the strongest start-up schools in the KIPP network due to its “outstanding” first-year school inspection in 2011.

KIPP University Prep High School – opened in 2009, KIPP University Prep earned an “Exemplary” rating from TEA in its first year.

KIPP Un Mundo Dual Language Academy – opened in 2012, KIPP Un Mundo Dual Language Academy is a school where children will become fluent in English and Spanish and perform at or above grade level when they arrive to middle school.

KIPP San Antonio is successful because of our approach to education that includes longer school days, one to two hours of homework each night, monthly Saturday sessions, summer sessions, community service, field lessons, and college visits earned through dedication and hard work. We set high expectations for our students to achieve, but they are not alone in the process. Teachers and staff are fully committed to working with and encouraging students to achieve academic success with a focus on college admission. Our teachers are available by cell phone after school hours to provide help with homework as part of our “no excuses” policy. Our commitment to our students starts on their first day of school and continues through college and beyond.
