Mission Statement
The mission of International Justice Mission is to protect the poor from violence by rescuing victims, bringing the criminals to justice, restoring survivors to safety and strength, and helping local law enforcement build a safe future that lasts.About Us
International Justice Mission is a group of lawyers, investigators, and aftercare professionals who rescue victims of slavery, sex trafficking, and other forms of violent oppression. Since IJM was founded in 1997, our teams have relieved over 18,000 victims of violence. Headquartered in Washington, DC, our work is done in international field offices where nearly 95% of staff are nationals – which helps ensure effective and sustainable work. Our staff consists of leaders in their own countries literally changing the course of history. We work with local governments to secure immediate victim rescue and aftercare, prosecute perpetrators, and ensure that public justice systems – police, courts, and laws – effectively protect the poor. In our office in Cebu, the Philippines, third-party researchers found a 79% decrease in the availability of children being offered for sex after four years of enforcing the law using IJM’s casework model.Organization Mission Statements and About Us information are provided by GuideStar.
