Our mission is to ease suffering of Los Angeles-area children whether it be due to disease, disability, abuse, neglect, or poverty. We search for a single project each year where we can fill a critical unmet need of children in our community, and we fund a replicable prototype with a $1 million grant, thereby leveraging our funds and creating a wider impact.
About Us
The group funds incubator programs in the Los Angeles area with the hope that they will serve as new models for filling critical, unmet needs of children to be replicated nationally and internationally. The group of over 200 women members eschews costly, time-consuming, fund-raising events and focuses instead on results and leveraging resources by making large, targeted grants to new, innovative projects. Funds are amassed from member dues and outside donations. Grants are chosen by a careful, year-long process of diligent screening by members, guided by a professional grant consultant, and are closely monitored once made. Members also advocate for legislative and policy changes at every level of government focusing upon four issues: foster youth, juvenile justice, homeless youth, and public investment in low-income infants and toddlers.
