Children's Fairyland, the nation’s first storybook theme park, provides a safe, family-centered environment that stimulates a young child’s imagination, creativity, and desire to learn through fairy tales, fantasy sets, performing arts, animals, and related programs. In helping children to develop language and motor skills, and by augmenting schools’ curricula, we contribute to a child’s emotional, social, and cognitive needs for a successful school experience. Over the past eight years, Fairyland has implemented a comprehensive outreach program to low-income children and their families, providing over 25,000 park admissions to school and childcare groups and individual families in need. We’ve distributed Fairyland’s school-readiness curriculum to over 600 organizations serving low-income families. We sponsor collaborative-event days, emphasizing important themes such as safety, literacy, back-to-school, and dental hygiene. Welcoming 169,000 visitors each year to our downtown Oakland park, Fairyland has become an invaluable community resource for over 130 local organizations.
