Mission Statement

Adopt-A-Classroom increases opportunity for student success by empowering teachers with community partners and funds to purchase resources for the classroom.

About Us

Adopt-A-Classroom makes it easy for people to adopt specific classrooms online, providing partnership, support, and funding for much-needed supplies. The challenges of teaching have become so great, and the resources so scarce, that it is difficult for classroom teachers on their own to enable students to succeed. Lack of resources undermines teacher success and ultimately student success.

Adopt-A-Classroom has raised over $16 million on behalf of classrooms in underserved schools in all 50 states, impacting 2.5 million students. 100% of classroom donations are passed through to the teacher. Our operations are supported by unrestricted contributions from businesses, foundations and individuals.

Adopt-A-Classroom is very much the Philanthropy 2.0 model with a robust website community that takes advantage of technology and social media. The Adopt-A-Classroom community includes over 85,000 registered teachers, 30,000 donors, and 10,000 agents (e.g., school administrators, PTA representatives). Indirectly, our community of users reaches 2 million parents and other community stakeholders.
