About
Project GRAD USA is one of the nation’s largest college access programs for students in low-income areas, opening the doors to college with academic, community, and financial assistance. We currently serve 124,000 students in 205 schools nationally; 92% of these students are ethnic minorities and over 87% are eligible for free or reduced priced lunch. In our longest served schools, GRAD students are completing college at a rate 92% above the national average for students from similar backgrounds. Today we are taking the core GRAD model forward into a new space, restarting America’s lowest-performing schools by setting new high and high-tech expectations. Through “GRAD Restart Academies,” GRAD will deliver its proven college-prep program in an exciting partnership with one of the nation’s most successful charter school networks, KIPP Academies. The mission of GRAD Restart Academies is to restart failing K-12 public schools in historically underachieving areas of the United States.
